LEVEL 1
A certified individual who performs rope access work.
A Level 1 Technician may only work under the direct, on-site supervision.
LEVEL 2
A certified individual who is trained in advanced methods of access, rigging, and rescue.
In the SPRAT system, a level 2 may have some supervision responsibilities.
LEVEL 3
A certified individual who has extensive training in advanced methods of access, rigging, and rescue, and who is responsible for the overall rope access work site, including risk assessments, access, rigging, and rescue plans.

LEVEL 1
This is a rope access technician who is able to perform a specified range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a Level 3.
LEVEL 2
This is an experienced rope access technician who has Level 1 skills plus more complex rigging, rescue, and rope access skills, under the supervision of a Level 3.
LEVEL 3
This is a rope access technician who is capable of complete responsibility for rope access safety in work projects; is able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of Levels 1 and 2; is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation; has an extensive knowledge of advanced rigging and rescue techniques; holds an appropriate and current first aid certificate, and has knowledge of the IRATA training, assessment and certification scheme.

It was formed with the primary objective of providing a safe working environment for the rope access industry.

There is a written and practical component to every assessment. You will be evaluated on your ability to carry out the required tasks in a safe and effective manner. You'll also be evaluated on your knowledge, in accordance with the IRATA TACS.
